G&P is the caterer responsible for overall operative hotel management on 28 luxury, first and mid-range river cruise ships. To committed, enthusiastic candidates wishing to anchor up with us, we offer exciting and eventful experiences and opportunities throughout the year.

We currently employ around 1'150 people on our river cruise liners, and many of them have worked for G&P for a long time. Our G&P crew is looking for new members who are open, communicative and uncomplicated and willing to take on responsibility for their own actions, have good German and/or English skills and who are enthusiastic about our demanding guests, used to high standards of quality and love teamwork.

Important to know:

  • You will share a cozy cabin with one of your crew mates.
  • You will be living and working in a confined space.
  • As on all ships, work goes on seven days a week.

  • The river season lasts almost all year - with the main season running from April to November.

Our river cruise liners are always in Europe and always in view of land, so there is no such thing as seasickness on the river!

there are 201 harbors which we stop at.

Baker m/f

Baking is your passion! You are able to follow recipes with skill and according to the chef de cuisine's instructions.

You are capable of being solely responsible for all baked goods on board. You pamper the guests with your fresh creations, making their cruise an unforgettable culinary experience.

For you, a clean and hygienic working environment is a given.

Requirements

  • You are a trained baker and have work experience.
  • Knowledge of HACCP

Bartender m/f

Bartender m/f

You are co-responsible for giving drinks to the bar stewards and running tea time and drinks service on the sun deck. You are perfect at mixing traditional cocktails and have otherwise very good knowledge of drinks. You are enthusiastic about guest contact and sustainable sales, but you also have a communicative personality with good habits and a broad general education.

Requirements: 

  • You have training and experience in the hotel/restaurant business.
  • You work well under pressure, enjoy working independently and have in-depth knowledge of the service/bar sector.

Butler m/f

You are used to surprising very demanding guests with extraordinary service, have sound experience in high-end restaurants/hotels and have worked for several years in similar positions. Very good German and English skills are required.

Front office manager m/f

Front office manager m/f

You are responsible for the entire front office area and the allocation, management and training of your employees. In cooperation with your employees, you are responsible for check-ins and check-outs and all day-to-day administration work, e.g. customs processing, telephone operation and POS settlement. You will also help relieve the hotel manager of general administration work.

The front office is the point of contact for our guests if they have queries, problems or requests. The on-board shop is also run by the front office.

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed training in the hotel business
  • You have already worked on a cruise liner.
  • Experience in staff management
  • Good to very good German and/or English
  • Very good PC skills, experience with Fidelio and Micros
  • A good organizer with structured working methods

Breakfast chef m/f

Breakfast chef m/f

You have completed professional training as a chef and have already proven your skills in the kitchen. You are committed and work well under pressure, enjoy working in a team and are flexible.

Very good knowledge of German (or English on cruise liners with US guests) is a must. You enjoy being in the kitchen very early in the morning or at night and preparing the extensive breakfast buffet by yourself. Occasionally, you will also prepare various warm breakfast dishes for the guests in the restaurant.

Hairdresser m/f

Hairdresser m/f

You are used to advising clients, listening to them and making pleasant conversation. Your joint passions are guest contact and sustainable sales. Your clients leave your salon with a satisfied smile.

You enjoy working in a team and always have a smile on your face. You are also responsible for cleanliness and compliance with HACCP guidelines within the hair salon.

Requirements

  • You are a qualified hairdresser.
  • Experience with cosmetic treatments is both beneficial and desirable.
  • Good to very good German and/or English
  • You can take responsibility for the management of the hair salon.

As the on-board representative of G&P, you are responsible for the hotel and the management and motivation of your staff.

You are an enthusiastic host and love making a river cruise into a real experience for your guests. You are responsible for maintaining G&P standards and ensuring cleanliness and order on board, checking all the orders and deliveries of goods, monitoring costs and meeting budgets and ensuring active communication between the captain, the tour guides, executive staff and the head office.

Requirements:

  • Extensive management experience, including in the F&B sector
  • Previous work on a cruise liner

  • A good communicator who loves his/her work.

Housekeeper m/f

Housekeeper m/f

You will be responsible for the entire housekeeping area and for the assignment, management and training of your employees in housekeeping and in the laundry.

You will guarantee compliance with G&P standards in your area and place orders in conjunction with the hotel manager.

You will also take place in representative events and enjoy looking after your guests on board.

Cabin/laundry steward m/f

You have a real flair for tidiness and cleanliness. Your main role is to ensure cleanliness and tidiness throughout the ship while respecting the privacy of the guests.

As a cabin steward, you are responsible for the cleaning and care of the guest cabins assigned to you, although your duties will also involve laundry and cleaning the public areas.

In order to fulfil the guests' requirements, you need to be able to express yourself and understand instructions clearly. You work well under pressure and enjoy working in a team.

You are responsible for the entire kitchen and the allocation, management, training and motivation of your staff.

Compliance with HACCP guidelines is a given. You are responsible for proper preparation of the daily meals in accordance with the menu cycle and G&P standards.

In cooperation with the hotel manager, you place orders and are responsible for organizing and checking goods deliveries in your area. You also take part in representative occasions.

Masseur m/f

You are used to advising clients, listening to them and making pleasant conversation. Your joint passions are guest contact and sustainable sales.

You enjoy working in a team and always have a smile on your face. You are also responsible for cleanliness and compliance with HACCP guidelines within the massage area and can advise the guests about the fitness room or sauna if required. Your on-board duties also include providing help for housekeeping, in the restaurant or in the on-board shop.

Night auditor m/f

Night auditor m/f

You are responsible for looking after the guests overnight and also manage the reception area during this time based on the front office manager's instructions.

You produce daily closing reports, check waiter statements and carry out cleaning work and inspections. You also carry out day-to-day administrative work, including answering the telephone and shop sales.

Requirements

  • You have training in the hotel business or many years of experience in reception work.

Receptionist m/f

Under the supervision of the front office manager, you will run the reception area and check guests in and out, as well as carry out day-to-day administrative work such as customs formalities and telephone operation.

The reception desk is the point of contact for our guests if they have queries, problems or requests, and the on-board shop is also run by the reception team.

Requirements

  • You have training in the hotel business or many years of experience in reception work.
  • Knowledge of Micros and Fidelio
  • Very good German and/or English
  • Very good PC skills
  • A good organizer with structured working methods

Restaurant/bar manager m/f

Restaurant/bar manager m/f

You are responsible for the whole restaurant and bar area, take table reservations for the guests, welcome and say goodbye to the guests at every meal, lead, train, organize and motivate your staff and guarantee compliance with G&P standards in your area. You also work together with the hotel manager to place orders, check compliance with budget figures in the restaurant area and are responsible for the POS settlements of your employees.

You will also take place in representative events and organize and monitor the various F&B activities on board.

Requirements:

Restaurant/bar steward m/f

Restaurant/bar steward m/f

As a team of two, you take responsibility for your own service station and pamper your guests with your careful, attentive service. Sous chef m/f

You are the deputy for the chef de cuisine and jointly responsible for the proper preparation of the daily meals according to the menu cycle and in compliance with HACCP hygiene standards.

At the same time, you will help with the allocation and management of the kitchen crew and deputize for the chef de cuisine while he/she is on holiday.

Requirements:

  • Training in the hotel business
  • If possible, you have previously worked on a cruise liner.

Dishwasher m/f

Dishwasher m/f

Whether you are a new entrant or already have experience as a dishwasher: You are efficient, careful and work well under pressure. You are responsible for the washing up station and provide help to the kitchen staff. You will also be responsible for waste disposal and cleanliness in the kitchen, the storerooms and the cold stores in accordance with HACCP. You are a team player and happy to help anywhere required.

Good knowledge of German (or English on cruise liners with US guests) is a must.
